Two $25 checks...

from Walgreens in the mail today if I'll transfer a prescription for each check. UUGGHH! I've had a horrible experience there for the last several times that we've had prescriptions faxed from our doctor's offices. One Saturday when Nate had pneumonia there was a three hour wait and a bunch of irate folks waiting for flu shots...it was awful!
So, on a friends recommendation I tried Towne Center Pharmacy on Bennett Street....LOVED it! It reminds me of the Burgie Drug Store at home...hometown service and with all our health events these past few weeks, I think they already know me by name! The wait, so far has been negligible...20 minutes at most. One of those times it was on a Saturday and one of the drugs didn't come through on fax and the Pharmacist came around the counter, explained that they were calling and apologized for my inconvenience. I wanted to hug her neck!
So, I ask you....is the $50 bribe worth it...

I LOVE Town Center Pharmacy! ESPECIALLY compared with Walgreens. I had the worst experience getting my flu shot there a couple of months ago. If that day wasn't just a fluke, and it sounds like it wasn't, I would pass on the $50 without thinking twice.

P.S. Town Center also has the only $1 20-ounce Cokes I know of anymore. Bonus!

Unexpected Blessings, Birds and Bees

Well, yesterday was an interesting day. It came on the heels of a weekend of sickness, both Nate and Joe. Nate was officially diagnosed with croup and exacerbation of asthma and is still taking steroids and sounds worse, but the light at the end of the tunnel is on! Joe stayed in all weekend and sounded almost as bad as Nate minus the wheezing. We kept our family home (even from church, small group, etc) feeling like hermits. And, even though the boys were both sick, I picked up sweet Bella the dog on Saturday from a friend who works with the NC Lab rescue group. We know we eventually want another dog, but not until Nate is old enough to handle it. Bella, a one year old yellow lab- sheltie mix, house-broken, crate-trained 28 pound sweet girl, is going to spend a little time at our house and see how it goes. The kids think we're pet-sitting to help out Mrs. D, which is true, sort-of. The sweetest moment came yesterday when Nate gave a bedtime blessing to Bella the Dog. ...

Easier Days...

so today...Nate just wants to know if dogs can burp...easy answer...of course they do! We are enjoying the snow and especially enjoy that here in the Sandhills , after a few days of winter wonder land we will be back in the upper 50's. I'm pretty weary of blogging about family illnesses, but Nate is at it again...N&V, diarrhea...lovely. This morning, I mistakenly thought it was over and gave him his normal drink of chocolate milk. I know, it sounds unhealthy...but he got used to the chocolate soy milk and it was a natural transition. I use the syrup with less sugar to make me feel better. Anyway, about an hour later the den carpet and the dog were wearing the milk and Nate has thrown up a few more times since. So, I better go do a little more laundry.
